Cakes & Cranes!

We are at Lightwaves Leisure Centre in Wakefield, where staff have made us very welcome. We are hosting an event to raise awareness of human rights issues, especially those affecting asylum seekers.

There’s been delicious cake and a steady stream of supporters coming to join in, chat and learn more about our human rights.

This time we have also participated in the Origami Cranes Project, which aims to keep the memory alive of all who perished in the atom bomb explosions of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We hope that such devastation will never be seen again and, in an effort to ensure that, this project will highlight the Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons.

If you would like to join in with this activity, more details are included in this attached file, origami-cranes-project.pdf, including useful instructions on how to make a paper crane.
